my first christmas abroad

Hello loves!

I'm a bit late but here is my Christmas outfit! Hey, at least it's still December.
It would have been embarrassing only if I hadn't managed to post it before New Year's Eve, so it's still okay.
This year it was my first Christmas away from my family and friends and instead the first Christmas with my boyfriend's family - so many first times, wow! Let's just make it short and sweet: it was something special so I wanted a special outfit.
I had bought this lovely dress shortly after my arrival in Perth on my first shopping spree in the city and I already knew that I would have to wear it for Christmas. I mean golden stars, red belt, green cardi, come on! It couldn't be more perfect!
It turned out to be the right choice because we had 35°C on Christmas Day and I was happy to wear something light and breezy.

cardigan: thrifted
dress: dotti
belt: thrifted
shoes: h+m

We spent Christmas Day with Jarryd's family at his sister's place so we could watch his little 1,5 year old nephew unwrap the presents. Such a little cutie!
He is still a bit too young to understand the whole concept of Christmas presents but he had lots of fun tearing the wrapping paper apart and trying out all his cool new toy cars and trucks. We also had a lovely brunch together and then just hung out for a while.
Later that day Jarryd and I grabbed a coffee at the 24/7 McDonald's (because we are so classy) and went to the South Perth Foreshore. It was hot but with a little breeze by the water and the Perth skyline showed itself in all its beauty as usual.

We took a little walk around too and watched the cute birdies but they were too shy to let us come really close. Well, I managed to get these two snapshots at least.

That was my Christmas 2014 - very different from all past Christmas Days in my life. I still had a lovely time though and it was really interesting to see how Australians celebrate, what they eat, what they do etc.

I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas too.
Have fun tomorrow celebrating New Year's Eve!

life lately

Hello!

How are you guys? I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with their family and friends.

Again I didn't manage to blog regularly, so instead there is a bunch of photos I still haven't edited for future outfit posts. I promise I'll take care about it soon. For now I have the Christmas edition of "life lately" for you. Including pics of my new boyfriend for all those who are curious...

We saw a talented Danish singer/songwriter called Echo Me live the other day and I really enjoyed his music. You can give it a listen here. Furthermore I spent lots of cozy nights at home with the golden Christmas lights on.

Babe treated himself with a really chic new watch and I got a pretty new coat in the sale.

We made Christmas cookies for each other and bought Pacman cookies on a charity event - so yummyyy!!

We spent Christmas at my mum's place, got lots of awesome presents, had lots of yummy food and spent Boxing Day at my dad's place with his adorable little pup Waleska.

Tadaa, that's Jarryd and me. I know you've been curious about him so I thought it was about time for some pics. I'm really happy to be able to spend so much time with him before he goes back to Australia and I can't wait to go there next year and start a new adventure.

How were your holidays?

Until next post,

Christmas Day outfit

Hi guys!

This is the second and last Christmas post for this year - I'm already a little late, but anyway...
Christmas Day was spent at my Dad's place where we had dinner, walked the dog and watched movies - again a very uneventful and laid back day.
I don't even know why I dressed up, actually I could have spent the day in pyjamas, but for the sake of getting dressed up I put together this simple little outfit.
If you saw yesterday's post you already know tights and boots. The heart-printed Mango cardi is a sale bargain from earlier this year and the army green blouse is a recent sale bargain and new favourite of mine.

Actually I'm glad that Christmas is over and that this year is coming to an end. I already had to make a brand-new start two months ago, but still I can't wait to use the beginning of a new year as an official symbol for starting from scratch, getting used to the single life and moving on from everything that happened in 2012.

Anyway, here are a few last Christmas impressions before we move on to the new year.

Have a lovely day!

christmas eve outfit

Hello everyone!

How was your Christmas?
I hope it was full of quality time with family and friends, good food, booze, party, presents and glitter for all of you! :)
Mine was actually uneventful. I spent it at my Mum's and at my Dad's place in turn and the only thing we did was eating and lounging about on the sofa watching movies. Very lazy this year.
The weekend before Christmas I was out and about too with some good friends. I went to a transvestite theatre (which was SO funny), and to the Christmas party in my hometown at the pub where I used to waste my youth. Let's sum it all up saying I really had a blast the last couple of days! :)

This is what I wore on Christmas Eve, a simple black and nude combo with some glitter to make it a tad more festive. The dress is superlight and comfy, it has a stretchy waist - this my friends is the most important thing about an outfit that you wear to sit around and stuff your face with food! ;)
The booties are a recent buy that's slowly but steady becoming a new favourite. I can practically wear them with anything and I love how the studded back adds a bit of rock chic to all outfits.
The little golden mustache necklace is another new favourite, I swapped it with a girl from Austria and almost never took it off since its day of arrival.

So that was my little Christmas report. Tomorrow the outfit from Christmas Day will follow.
How was your Christmas time? What did you eat? What presents did you get? :)

Have a lovely evening!

provide me clues just go ahead

Hi guys!

Phew it's been a pretty busy time lately and the pre-Christmas time flew by so fast I was hardly able to enjy it. Somehow I'm totally lacking of the Christmas spirit this year. Okay, of course I'm looking forward to spending the holidays with family and friends, but apart from that there is not much christmassy stuff going on. A few visits to the Christmas market, a little self-torture in the overcrowded shops, but that was it.
I didn't even manage to squeeze in some time for baking cookies. December is too short for me this year - but maybe it's because of all the to-dos for the new apartment and because I'm trying to keep myself busy to not hang around home alone.
Anyway, despite the lack of time I was able to take some outfit shots the other day at least.

I haven't worn this sailing boat dress for what feels like ages! When I bought it one or two years ago I just had to have it because of the cute print but then hardly ever wore it as a dress. Why? Well I felt uncomfortable because I thought it was too short and revealed too much of my thighs. Oh the complexes, right?
Now a year later the dress fits more loosely, still has the same length and I'm confident enough to wear it as a dress without the obligatory skinny jeans underneith that I used to combine it with.
It's so perfectly comfortable for sitting around at the office all day, I'm glad I rediscovered it in my wardrobe!

Haha the pout, sorry can't help it when taking photos.

So, do you guys already have certain Christmas plans? I mean, at this time next week it'll be over already, so crazy! Are you going to celebrate with your family and friends too? Maybe you're going on holiday? Or you're going to attend some special Christmas events? Go to church? Have goose? Watch all the cheesy Christmas movies? God I can hear Disney's a Christmas carol hear me calling! :)

Tell me about what makes Christmas christmassy for you this year.

Love,

christmas recap 3

Hi guys!

Here we go with the last part of my Christmas recap and how I spent Boxing Day. Above (and also below) you can see what I wore, it's almost the same outfit I had chosen for our company's Christmas party last week and I liked the dress so much that I had to wear it again. Also I didn't have my camera with me last week so on Boxing Day I finally got the chance to take some pics then. I actually got this dress at the Promod summer sale, but I think it perfectly works as a Christmas dress too.

♥ dress: promod ♥ blazer: new yorker ♥ shoes: deichmann ♥ bow alice band: h&m ♥

Alright, so on Boxing Day Patrick and I slept in and were welcomed by a lovely late breakfast in the living-room of his parent's. We just lounged about at the table until afternoon, got dressed and headed over to my Dad who had invited us to coffee and cake and to dinner later on.
Everytime I visit my dad I have to tell you guys what a lovely garden he has - even in winter! I asked Patrick to take some photos of me but he's always too shaky, so I used the self-timer instead. That's how this funny picture of the four of us emerged :)
I was also glad to see Waleska again, my dad's dog. She's the cutest dog girl ever and so photogenic!
In the evening we went to a cozy little Italian restaurant, but I didn't take photos there (I'm always afraid of disturbing the other guests). But here is the rest of the pics from the afternoon:

Hm I'm getting a little melancholic now that I have to say this was the last Christmassy post this year. Next year I'll have to start earlier with everything... and I want snow! Where is the snow?
In general I'm always melancholic when the end of a year draws nearer, I just don't want time to go by so fast. I think it will even get worse with my emotions tomorrow and the day after, however I know i will be full of zest for action as soon as 2012 begins.

Have a lovely day!
