How have you been?
I'm sorry, I've been a lazy blogger last week. It seemed like the productivity of the first week in 2011 was replaced by a wave of pure laziness in week no. 2 and I swear I tried but I was so demotivated that I didn't do anything productive. The weekend was the peak of laziness, oh you don't even want to know how long I slept and how little I moved, believe me... And I was not ill, I have no idea where this fatigue came from! Winter depression? I don't know, but I'm so glad it's gone now. Hope it won't come back.

Good news (you might think I'm stupid, but):
I found the time to read some more about my new DSLR and I finally understood how to handle the zoom lens and at least half of the different modi to take photos. I'll upload the first outfit shots taken with the new cam in the course of this week. Yay :D
Now the next things I'll have to learn about is this ISO stuff and shutter speed etc... and the next things I'll have to buy are a cam bag and a tripod!
Today Patrick tried to take photos of me and it was a catastrophe because his hands are SO shaky that even the vibration-reduction of the cam couldn't help and so all the photos turned out extremely blurry.




The outfit is what I threw together in a hurry in the morning some day last week. I wanted to try if khaki and mustard works and I think it did?! Okay the cardi doesn't really look mustard in the photos but it actually is, it's just my crappy old cam's fault because it always tends to overexpose things. Oh and my new swallow necklace! I can't stop wearing it, it's so pretty! A funny little story about it: it caught my eye when it was hanging in the chaotic Accessorize sale section and I fell in love with it. It was the only one there but it was hopelessly entangled in other necklaces and hooks and all but I wanted it so bad! So I untangled it in painstaking detail work until I finally got it out of this mess and happily carried it to the pay desk.
Unfortunately it was not a sale item, it was simply hanging on the wrong wall! Aaaah...
I bought it anyway.

Alright, I promise to blog more this week.
But now I'm going to visit Patrick on the sofa and watch him play Heavy Rain, a great new game for PS3 that is designed like a movie, so gripping!

heart beat, stay heavy

Hi guys!

Oh I'm freaking out because of my camera again! Look at these photos, I mean how crappy the quality is! My cam, a Samsung S1060, has been a faithful companion for the last 3 years and was very patient with me and it survived all my moments of clumsiness when it fell to the ground a thousand times, BUT God it freaks me out.
It can actually take good pictures with the right light conditions, but it tends to overexpose eventhough I always adjust it to the light conditions manually.

Well, finally the time has come to put the Samsung into retirement. Of course I'll still keep it and I'll also use it from time to time, but next week it's going to be replaced by a DSLR.

Tomorrow I'll take all the money I got for Christmas, pay it into my account and order this baby from Amazon. And I'll also order a coffee machine, so I can drink one cup after the other next month when it's exam time.
Concerning the camera I've red lots and lots of reviews and product description, compared prices, compared brands and whatnot and finally came to the decision that the Canon EOS Rebel XS seems to be a good buy. It's comparatively low priced, said to be a good cam for DSLR-noobs like me, easy to handle, provides some extra functions for when you want to deepen your knowledge about photography and it's small and lightweight.
Anyone of you has experience with the Canon EOS Rebel XS (1000D) and can tell me if it's a good choice?
I can't wait to try it out. At a pinch I can still send it back.

Okay, enough camera bla bla for today. It's cold and it's raining outside and I'm hungry, so it's time to curl up on the sofa with some snacks and a movie. Oh by the way thanks a lot for all the movie recommendations from Tuesday, I added them to my movie-list :)

houston we have a camera problem

Hi guys!

I am so lazy this weekend! I slept in, took my time for looong breakfasts, played Professor Layton or Donkey Kong Country Returns (it's finally out now, I love this game) while lying in bed. I was too lazy to blog or to even take photos for some upcoming blogposts! It was so nice to bum around and have nothing special to do.

You know why it came so far? My camera is such a crappy piece of sh**! I believe it must be broken somehow, maybe it fell down too often or something?
Look at the photo above. That's what it does! That's what the photos look like on a day with normal lighting conditions! I hate it, it always gets me so frustrated that I don't wanna take outfit pics anymore.



Funnily enough it only does that in the selftimer mode! When I'm taking pictures of something myself they turn out okay. Anyone an idea what's wrong with my cam? Any professional advice? My cam is a Samsung S 1060 digital cam.

Hopefully I'll get enough money for Christmas so I can buy a DSLR...

So please excuse the poor quality of the pics, I'm actually thinking of taking an outfit-pictures-break until Christmas because of this camera disaster. But I'm not sure yet if I should really surrender to a piece of electronics?!
Ah well, we'll see.
