productivity (+ DIY calendar)

Hi guys!

How have you been? Had some nice first days of 2011?
I had never imagined that my year would start with feeling so productive! I did so many things, it's so nice that I only work half days this week. So much free time! I'm not used to this but it feels way better than working 9 to 6 and not having much time left when you come home.

I cleaned up the apartment, went sale shopping with friends (many cute new stuff to style for future posts), catched up with paperwork that piled up on my desk, registered for the exams next month, worked on a new banner for the blog... I even had time to read and listen to music and watch movies. These otherwise neglected activities, ah I almost forgot how nice they are. At the moment I still read "Teacher Man" by Frank McCourt (I'm a fan of Irish writers), then I listened to the new Volbeat album (and loved it!) and watched two horror movies, the Nightmare on Elm Street remake and Paranormal Activity. Okay they were both pretty lame (especially the Freddy movie without Robert Englund, which is a shame) but at least I had the time to watch them and form an own opinion about them.

Oh and I made a new calendar for 2011. That's a lovely little ritual for me: I make a calendar with photos of Patrick and me each year. Here's how it works:

1. Print out the photos you would like to use for the calendar (or go to a copyshop for better quality - depends on your printer).

2. Cut them out :)

3. Glue them in one of those plain DIY calendars (for example available in the post offices here in Germany).

4. Decorate the sheets at will. I'm not a good drawer, so I use cute stickers and scribble around a bit.

I'm planning to catch up with watching all the movies that are on my movie wishlist. If you have any suggestions about other good movies (especially horror - oh good horror movies are hard to find...) please tell me :)
On my list so far:

The Messenger
Eat Pray Love
Ponyo (cuuuute!!!)
Angela's Ashes
Moon
Halloween 2
Zombieland

Have a lovely day!

  2. that's such a great idea!!
Ohh good movies...if you like Ponyo, Spirited Away is amazing! It's anime too, and it's just brilliant. I think it won an Oscar?
Uhm...Love Actually? That's a really popular film, you might have already seen it. I'm more of a comedy fan. So i don't know any good horror films!
    Hope you enjoy watching

  6. I love the diy calender, such a great and sweet idea :) I envy you the half days, I wish I worked half days.. As for horror films to watch, jennifer's body, devil, those are the only ones I can think of right now. But I will let you know when I have others. Oh and I must say that you will (I hope so) enjoy Zombieland ;)
