a new addiction

Hi guys!

I have a new addiction: blushes.

It all began with nail polishes taking over my fridge... I told myself I should stop buying naill polishes because I have so many of them, especially all different shades of red. Then I even stopped painting my nails for several weeks to let them recover from all the damage the polishes did to them.

And then I somehow discovered my love for blushes. I have bought more blushe sin the last two months than in the whole last year... ehm I should stop doing that...

Anyway, these here are my two very favourites:

The Catrice Defining Duo Blush in "Apricot Smoothie":

A lovely apricot colour for spring! It makes my cheeks look fresher and is a flattering tone for pale skin.

I don't have the most professional brush, but still I think the texture is a tad too "crumbly" when you first apply it. After blending it in it gets powdery though and it feels good on the skin, you don't feel caked with make-up or so.

I don't remeber exactly, but the price is somewhere between 3-5 €, so that's also a bonus point.

The Alverde powder blush in "Flamingo":

My new "goes with any make-up" choice concerning blushes! I love the not too flashy pink tint and the absolutely awesome soft and silky texture on the skin. Furthermore it's really flattering for my chubby cheeks! :)

It blends in easily and lasts all day (but maybe that's because I always fix it with transparent powder?).

I have nothing to complain about this blush and can totally recommend it. I'll try other shades of it soon.

Oh and btw the price is also somewhere between 3-5 €!

into this world we're thrown

Hi guys!

Today is a strange day. Nothing goes the way it was planned and everything feels irregular. This morning I was getting ready for uni, brushing my teeth, whilst checking my emails and then - thank God - I discovered an email saying my classes are deleted for today because of a university sport event. I tend to neglect my uni email account.... but it was a nice surprise.
I didn't really know what do with myself, so I got dressed and styled and since then I've been editing photos, pre-scheduling blog posts, looking for stuff on Ebay, smoking on the balcony and drinking vanilla coffee.
I'm also in the mood for The Doors right now, their music matches this strange day and weather perfectly.

Say, how do you guys like these pants? I bought them last week at my new favourite store Pimkie. It's still hard to admit for me because this shop used to sell cheap polyester stuff and their bad reputation has been lingering in the heads of German girls... but I was surprised about what cute stuff they sell now. I couldn't see a difference to H&M or Zara's TRF collections. Plus - just like H&M - Pimkie always has many many things on sale. Last time when I went there and to get these pants I also bought like 5 other pieces and only spent about 60€. I like!






It's not even afternoon yet and it already feels like evening. Can somebody tell me what's wrong with the whole atmosphere today? I can't help but feeling a little mock-sorrowful, I don't like this myself but somehow it won't go away.
Oh well, this will pass too. Maybe later on in the afternoon when I'll have to run some errands with Patrick. I'm probably a little annoyed because we had planned to go to a concert tonight but now unfortunately we can't because Patrick has to be on call.

God, I have so many photos today! I'm running out of text between them ;)
Ehm one more thing I wanted to show you is the hair and make up. I had time enough to try something new, so I flipped through the pages of some magazines and thought "How about a braid today?". No sooner said than done. Oh my what a catastrophe! I wanted to create a braid like this one, but was a miserable failure. I need at least three more hands to do this... So I made a normal braid instead. Have you ever tried such a complicated braid alone?

After the failed braid I applied myself to the make up. Normally I wear my eyes all black, black kohl, black eyeliner, black mascara. My cosmetician always advises me of the hard contrast the black is to my pale skin, she says I should try out brown hues for they look softer. So I dug out all my brown stuff and tried it out. It's unusual to me but I like it, however I don't look that badass anymore haha ;)
What do you think? Is the brown better than black?

MNY Maybelline My Gloss

Normally I don't like to write too much about make-up because I can't afford the really good stuff and so I think there are always better products than the ones I use. But today I thought I could give it a go and tell you something about my new lip gloss:





Maybelline MNY is a new young product line that provides fashionistas around the world with basic products in trendy colours. After I saw this lipstick over at Chictopia and found out that it's not easy to get it in Germany, I decided that it's time to go and get a new lip gloss.
Actually I hate lip gloss because it's sticky and greasy and doesn't stay on for longer than 5 minutes (well, at least if you're a smoker). Or if it stays on, a little breeze is enough to make all your hair stick to your lips, yummy... But I think I just didn't have the right gloss in the past, because the MNY gloss I bought is different.

It's creamy and easy to applicate (even with my piercing). The applicator has just the right size to put the gloss on your lips and spread it exactly. And after I let it dry for some seconds it kind of soaks in a bit and stays on for two or three hours. It survives snacks and drinks and cigarettes, that's something my former glosses didn't do.
Okay, like I said, after 2 hours it starts to disappear from the lips. But honestly, don't we girls love this little ritual of refreshing our lip gloss with a pocket mirror in public? ;)

The colour I chose is a soft pearly desert beige (number 475), wonderfully shiny of course, and discreet enough to wear it without being stared at like an alien. Actually you can only see the real colour with a certain light incidence, from other angles it only shimmers a bit beige.
There are plenty of other beautiful colours (not only nude tones) available too.



I award even more bonus points because of the bottle's nice black and white design, the handy size and the delicious smell. Oh and last but not least it's well-priced,
I only had to spend 2,50 Euro (approx. 3,30 $).
