all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream

Hi guys!

This is another planned post that publishes itself automatically while I'm on holiday in Barcelona.

This outfit is what I wore to work last week on a cold, rainy and windy day. It's already real fall weather in Düsseldorf and I'm beginning to layer shirts and wrap myself in cozy cardigans.
For an uneventful day at the office I chose my new favourite skinnies, they are super-comfy due to a lot of stretch. I finally fit into H&M's pants sizes properly, it's a miracle. Before my weight loss I was somewhere between 42 and 44, the former often too tight, the latter always too big.
Now I fit into a 40 perfectly, which makes life and pants-shopping so much easier (and cheaper).

It's crazy how you can see the change of seasons in the change of clothing now - I'm switching from flats to lace-ups, from light cardis to army parka, from breezy pants to jeans.
And from t-shirts to shirts with longer sleeves and wider cut so I can wear an undershirt (grandma always told me to keep my kidneys warm, that's an advice I will follow for the rest of my life to keep cystitis away).

Hooray for fall! I can't wait to stock up on cardigans when I'm back from sunny Barcelona! :)
Have you seen my first fall wishlist 2012 in my last post? I will hit the shops (and websites) to go treasure hunting as soon as I'm back in Germany.

Have a lovely day!

summing up favourites #8: autumn love

Hi guys!

I haven't done a summing up favourites feature for a while, so it's about time. We all love autumn, don't we? At least I read a lot about autumn being the favourite season of many bloggers because of the weather, the beautiful colours of all the fallen leaves and because of the possibilities for dressing. It's not too warm to wear tights and cardigans anymore and it's not too cold for winter jackets that hide half of our outfits yet. Quite the contrary! We can layer a lot or top off looks with pretty transition jackets, vests or coats.
I have collected 8 looks from the last weeks that really inspire me and from now on I'm going to show you my favourites in a bigger version so you can see the outfits in all their beauty.

Amy of Flying a Kite mixing patterns and looking all lovely in Halloweenish colours.

Lady Moriarty pulling off mustard, beige and dark blue in her amazing vintage inspired style.

Michelle Elizabeth of Mod Fox looking stunning in her black witchy lace dress for a pre-Halloween shoot.

Rebecca of The Clothes Horse in a casual and perfectly chic outfit including one of the cutest autumny sweaters I've ever seen.

Laura of Tokyo And Seoul Dreams rocking her magenta blazer and pretty ankle boots for a dazzling autumn look.

Caitlin of Waking Life in a really cute yellow dress looking all stylish with the lovely accessories.

Isabelle of YeYe! Style Blog in a gorgeous combo of vibrant shades of blue and red!

Petra of Photoblog By Petra rocking a simple but stylish autumny ensemble and looking totally pretty and cute.

Oh I wish autumn would never end...
So, do you like the outfits above? What are your favourites?

Happy Sunday!

a condition of the heart

Hi guys!

Today was one of these wonderfully crisp and sunny autumn days that I love so much. Unfortunately I couldn't really enjoy it because I had to work from 9 to 5, but I also enjoy the cold evenings and rejoice in being at home in my pyjamas with a cup of tea and a piece of oreo-flavoured chocolate while it's pitch dark and cold outside. Autumn - oh you season of candles, hot drinks and coziness :)

What I like best about these aformentioned cold, clear and sunny days is that you can still wear rather summery shoes because there's no need to worry about wet feet! A pair of 100 DEN tights keeps my legs and feet warm enough in the simple leather brogues which again is good because in the summer they turned out to be my favourite shoes for wearing a skirt.
Speaking of skirts: see that I wore my new corduroy skirt again? I love how versatile it is, especially with all kinds of earthy colours.
By the way I wore this yesterday for two philosophy classes and went on a trip to Remscheid afterwards where I visted my Dad in the hospital. He had a slipped disc but the surgery went well and he was in good health according to the circumstances.

♥ necklace: birthday gift and souvenir from China ♥

When I returned from the hospital visit I got off at our district's railway station and discovered what I had never noticed before (or maybe it wasn't there before?): there was a quote sprayed on the backside of one of the ticket machines. It made me smile because I knew where it is from :)

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
