outfit essentials - a little wish list

Hallo Hallo!

[scroll down for English]

DE - Oha was isn jetzt los?

ENHello everyone!
Okay guys, just so you know what's going on above: I've decided to blog in my mothertongue too. Starting from today you will find my texts in English and German so nobody's excluded.

Anyways, now for something more important: Shopping!
When I was younger I remember my mum regularly receiving the Witt-Weiden catalogue - made of real paper and, yes, in the mail (that's how old I am!). The other day I discovered that this company still exists. They are a bit more modern and have some lovely clothes and home textiles! I've put together a little wishlist with my favourites (owls! nude tones! plaid!).
While the whole world is waiting for spring, here in Down Under autumn is approaching fast so I made the wishlist an "autumn edition".

All the items above can be found on witt-weiden.de!

Have a lovely day!

home design inspiration: bedrooms

home design inspiration: bedrooms blog post title
Hello!

Thank you so much for your comments on my last post, just want to let you know that everything's okay with my boyfriend. We're always able to make peace again, no worries.

My move to Australia is drawing nearer (hopefully I'll fly over in October) and I've been anticipating a completely new place to live in with Jarryd. We've been looking through the online house listings for rental houses together and now that I know what Australian houses are like I can start to dream of how to arrange everything inside.
As I'm a Pinterest addict I of course have my own pinboard for anything interior over there and today I picked out the loveliest bedrooms to feed the inspiration and share them with you.
One disappointment is that we won't be allowed to put anything on the walls with nails, so instead of hanging up pictures or other things I will have to find an alternative. I'll figure that out in the course of the next months...

By the way the pics are all taken from my Pinterest Home Design Inspiration board and if you click them they will lead you to their original source.

As you can see I'm a big fan of white, light colours and warm brown wood and leather to make a room look cozy. I like it clean and simple with colourful eyecatchers to add some personality. What's also important is a good balance of old and new pieces to make it contemporary but personal and charming.
What do you think? How do you like this style?

Happy Friday!

new home: kitchen

Hello guys!

Okay I admit my "new home" is not so new anymore - I'm just too slow in preparing these posts. I've been living here since November and my new apartment has had many visitors, a house warming party and many little improvements since then. But still I haven't managed to show you my kitchen yet because it was always too dirty to take photos haha. The other day I finally took the chance right after cleaning up, so here are some impressions of my kitchen. To see the post about my bed room/living room click here.

The beautiful owl illustration is my favourite picture ever, it's an etching handmade by a very good friend. She gave it to me some time ago and now it's the eye-catcher on the wall right above the dining table. I love the picture so much that I'm thinking about having it tattooed on my body as a symbol for wisdom after finishing my bachelor thesis.

The postcards are a collection of souvenirs from places I've been. Some of them were sent to me by friends too and some are just funny ones I couldn't resist to buy.

I really love these retro tin-plate signs like the one above. I would put more on my walls if I had the space.

This cupboard is an Ikea "Billy" one, but it's a special edition with Shakespeare quotations and funny little scribbles all over. In the old apartment it stood in the hall but I use it as a pantry now. You might actually now it from some of my outfit posts, this one for example.

I put some motivating pictures on different spots in the kitchen to keep me going with my Weight Watchers program.

Hope you liked these little peeks into my home.
Have a lovely Sunday!

wish list for the apartment: living room/bedroom

Hi guys!

I've been living in my new apartment for a while now, but you know how it is after moving to a new place - there's always something you still don't have and that needs to be bought to make a room complete.
I got all the basic furniture I need, like a bed, a kitchen, a desk etc. but there are still furniture wishes that got lost along the way in the course of the past months due to a lack of money and the problem of not having a car to transport heavier pieces.
Also there are certain things, e.g. my dining table and chairs, that I brought from the old home but don't really like anymore, so I plan on replacing them as soon as possible. Oh well, never really content with what you have, I guess it's just the nature of mankind, right?
Anyway, here is a little wish list and collection of inspiration for how I want my apartment to be in the future. It will be a big project as a whole, but I hope I'll manage to get closer to my ideal step by step in the course of this year.
Btw if you'd like to see some impressions of my living room/bedroom visit this post.

I like it cozy and rustic mixed with modern, playful and colourful. My biggest wish is a big and comfy brown leather armchair or sofa to go with the vintage cocktail chair I already bought via Ebay. It would be great to have a little "living room corner" as my bedroom is also my office and living room at the same time too. I need more seatings because at the moment I can either offer my guests only the bed to sit on (which can be quite awkward with some guests...) or I have to stay in the kitchen with them.
For the rustic touch I'd love to have one of these tables made out of a wine box and for the coziness some cute pillows and a knit plaid.
Not a must, but a bonus would be a beautiful new lamp and some nice prints or paintings for the walls.

Furthermore I found some awesome DIY projects that I'd love to try out soon. I'm not good at crafting, but maybe it will get better with a little practicing?
Here is a little collection of my favourite DIYs from Pinterest, which all happen to be light-related:

Have a lovely day everyone!

new home: bedroom/living room

Hi guys!

Remember I moved to a new apartment in November? And remember how I promised to show you some photos of it? Well it took me two months to settle down and get everything in the right place an all. Now I finally managed to take some photos so you have a few impressions of my bedroom/living room. Here we go!

The two lovely collages on my wall were a gift. I won them in a giveaway at the blog Daria's Collages last year and have been loving them ever since because they are such cool eye-catchers.

The wooden horses are a fleamarket find and they watch over my CDs now.

The jewelry tree is for the necklaces, the little treasure chest is for the rings and brooches.

I love matryoshkas and I had quite a collection. But as I have less space for decoration in my new apartment I only put the prettiest ones on the shelf.

My amazing vintage armchair from Ebay. I spray-painted the feet golden which looks so cool with this shade of brown.

A peek into a part of my wardrobe. Now my clothes have a home again, woohoo! :)

Have a lovely day!

new in: this and that for the apartment

Hi guys!

I'm still blogging rarely and still from my friend's guest room, BUT I will have my own desk in my own apartment again soon. Next Saturday is moving day and I will finally live in my new place shortly after. Can't wait! :)

Speaking of anticipation: I'm already buying stuff for the new home via Ebay. And since there are no outfit posts at the moment, I show you what I've bought instead.
How do you like these? :)

1. Ikea "Lyckoax" bed linen
2. Biberna floral bed linen
3. mosaic glas fragments lamp
4. vintage arm chair

And there is so much more on my watch list.....
I can't wait to buy some pretty christmas lights, curtains and all too.

Okay this was only a small post - but hey, at least I'm blogging, right? ;)

Have a lovely day!

stomping ground

Hi guys!

I came across these photos while I was organizing my photo folders and realized that I have not posted them yet, so here they are.
A few weeks ago I went to my home village to visit friends and attend the ridiculously small village fair. You know, there is really nothing going on in this place, never has been and never will. So a bouncing castle for the kids, a stereo, homemade cakes and coffee are the highest of highs in this place, but still I love it. I love the "hick town -ishness", I love that I know every single house, tree and fence, I love the endless fields around and I love all the memories I have of this sleepy boring hamlet.
I was invited to dinner at a friend's house later this day, but after I had left I stopped by the dirt road behind the end of the village to take some photos. Excuse the poor quality, I used the self-timer and it was crazy wind there in the fields, hence the nice hair.....

I used to hate living there when I was younger, you know, this urge to leave home and explore th world and all. But now I think it would be nice if my mum still lived there, so I could visit her over the weekend from time to time. I would love to stroll through the area and take photos in the midst of this beautiful landscape.
It's so much harder to find outdoor places for taking photos in the city! Especially if you're the strange girl that tries to use the self-timer in public and especially when you don't have a tripod and look for a window sill or whatever to place your camera on.
I really need to buy a tripod very very soon...

Alright, enough melancholy for now. I just didn't want these photos to disappear in the bottomless pit of my unorganized photo folders ;)

And now for something completely different for my German readers:

Ebay hat noch bis Montagmorgen eine Keds Sonderaktion laufen, es gibt dicke Reduzierungen auf viele schöne Modelle! Klickt einfach das Bild:

Also ich finds super, liebäugle mit dem bordeauxroten Kordmodell...

Have a lovely day!
