Hi guys!

I have neglected my several band shirts for so long! But now that I've lost some weight I feel much more comfortable wearing simple t-shirts again (before I'd rather prefer long and loose tunics...).
Anyway, some of you already know about my love for metal and punkrock music - so now I'm going to bring back my style to proudly wearing my favourite bands on my shirts again.
This is a little selection of what I'd love to buy - but I can't afford all of them!

I think I'll order 3-4 of the above. Which ones should I take? What bands do you like wearing t-shirts of?

the roses skirt

Hi guys!

Damn, I've been too busy to edit the photos of our afternoons at the lake last weekend. Maybe I'll have time to do this in the course of the next few days...
Instead this is what I wore to work today. Maybe you remember this skirt's first appearance here on the blog some time ago?
Well, I've lost some weight since then and the skirt is too big around the waist now. What to do with a too big skirt when you love the colour and print so much?
Okay, I could pull it down a bit and wear it on the hips, but honestly it has a strange length then and looks pretty unflattering on my legs. So instead I use a pretty belt, ruffle the fabric a bit and wear it as a high-waisted skirt in paperbag style!

Don't you love my new bag? Well, I do! It's actually not new, it's second hand and has some tiny dark stains somewhere on the faux leather - ink or something. But I don't care, I saw it on Ebay and fell in love with the unique shade of greyish brown and the patchwork style! And because of the tiny blotches it was a nice bargain, almost nobody placed a bid and in the end I got it for 8€ including the shipping. Score! I love a good Ebay bargain!

One more day to go until the weekend now! God, I hate how tiem flies, BUT of course I'm looking forward to the weekend. Mine is full of plans again: a friend's birthday, Patrick's band playing a gig at a local festival, a dinenr date with one of my girls......
And tomorrow I'll only work until 3pm, so nice! Weekend I'm coming!

Hope you're having a nice day!

chocolate fudge cake recipe

Hi guys!

This is a recipe I've wanted to share with you for some time but never made it to edit the photos. Now I did and believe me, it tastes as yummy as it looks! And it's so easy!
I made this as a belated birthday cake for Patrick (because he was on a business trip when he turned 27). he loves chcolate, so it was THE ultimate cake for him! :)

You need:

- a cake pan with 20-30 cm diameter

- 200g dark chocolate
- 200g butter
- 250g sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 tbs flour

Step 1

Preheat the oven at 200° (Celsius).
Melt the chocolate and butter using the double-boiler method.
When liquid, add the sugar, stir for a minute, then let it all cool down.

Step 2

Add the eggs one by one, stirring constantly.
In the end add the flour. Stir again until you have a smooth dough.

Step 3

Easy-peasy: Fill the dough into the cake pan.
Bake at 200° (Celsius) for about 20 minutes.
The cake should still be soft in the middle when you gently push it with a finger.
Take the pan out of the oven and take out the cake immediately, then let it cool down.

Et voilĂ !

Enjoy! :)

biscuit & plum

Hi guys!

How have you all been?
I've had a really good weekend and today was another day off, so I'm relaxed and ready for a short working week to start to tomorrow.
I thank you a lot for your supporting comments on my last post. Some regular readers may or may not have noticed that here and there I've thrown in some info about my private life being upside down since Patrick has returned from a very long business trip some weeks ago. However I would never name the details of my private issues on the internet, so I'll leave it at saying what I already said on Friday: we've been having some problems but it finally feels like we're on our way up again.
We've been together for almost ten years now and of course already had our ups and downs in the past. We always managed to make it through hard times and that's what we're doing again at the moment, we're making it through. This shall pass too and will be another thing we'll look back on as overcome in the future.

Now for something completely different: this is what I wore to work last Friday. It was hot and windy - the perfect opportunity to wear my new linen pants! I was actually already broke when I ordered a bunch of pants at Esprit Online, but everything was marked down 50%, so I couldn't resist.
Funnily enough, this pair of pants was the only one out of ten that fit me. I've lost 12 kilos since February and I'm still not used to ordering smaller sizes it seems.
Anyway, I'm glad these babies fit because I fell in love with the shape and colour at first sight! Breezy, not too baggy and in a lovely shade of light brown called "biscuit".
Mmhh, I guess I'd buy anything that's named after food haha! So the combo with my plum cardigan somehow suggested itself. Biscuits and plums, yum!

I think I will sort out and edit the photos of our weekend tonight. We spent Saturday and Sunday at the lake because it were the hottest days of the year so far. Saturday we went alone, Sunday it was double fun because Patrick's band was with us. So you can expect some lake photos in the course of the next days, woohoo!

Oh and also "Hi!" to the couple of new readers! I'm glad you're following along, thanks for that! :)

Have a nice day!

Hi guys!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I've been having a pretty hard time concerning my relationship... but it seems that we're finally on the way up again. I hope I can be a better blogger again soon.

muffins and polkadots for the bbq party

Hello guys!

I know it's Monday morning and a good mood is out of place, but I'm having a day off and that's so nice! I slept in until 8.30, then threw on pyjama pants and a cozy sweater and now I'm sipping a vanilla latte while blogging. This is how every day should start - relaxed, with a coffee and with something I love to do.
I almost even got up at 6.30 because I had a spontaneous allergy attack out of nowhere, but after I had thrown in a pill against it, I was able to doze a little longer.
For the rest of today I plan to fill up my Kleiderkreisel catalogue, run some errands, eat the rest of the salads from Saturday, etc. Nothing hectic or urgent to do ahead - I love these days.

Speaking of Saturday! On Saturday it was that time again: backyard barbecue party with all the neighbours! We live in a big apartment block, but in our building there are only ten apartments of which we know every resident in person and foster a good relationship with them. It's nice to live in a place where you can trust each other, borrow or lend stuff, exchange a few words from balcony to balcony.
So because we all like each other so much, we host a backyard party once every summer where our house's residents and also some of the people from the other houses of the block come together. Everybody helps, brings food, drinks, tables etc. and then we sit down in the yard, eat, chat and enjoy ourselves. It has become such a nice tradition in the neighbourhood! :)
Unfortunately I didn't take any photos because I helped with the food , but in the photos you can see what I wore and what I brought for dessert: berry muffins!

It was a fun afternoon/night full of food, drinks and chit-chat. I was so glad to wear a comfortable dress with a stretchy waist after all the bratwurst, salad and bread! ;)

Have a nice day everyone!

summing up favourites #17: July 2012

Hi guys!

This month I'm a little bit late with it, but still I haven't forgotten about my monthly favourites feature. All July I've collected my most favourite inspiring outfits from all the blogs I follow, to put together a potpourri of different styles from around the world.
Here it is, I hope you like these ladies as much as I do:

All very different from each other, but all lovely summer outfits!
What are your favourites?

Happy Sunday!

whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there

Hi guys!

It's Saturday again, dang how time flies!
And here I am again, finally back with a new post. The still unsettled German weather is the reason for the constant change between outfits with summer dresses and with jeans and lace-up shoes - every morning is a Russian roulette. You cannot trust the weather forecast and you never know what you're gonna get (it's like with the box of chocolate, you know).

Anyway, this is what I wore to work on Thursday. I wasn't feeling good that day, so I needed something comfortable for the two office jobs - enter: my new jeans!
The other day I went sale-shopping with Mum to find her a new coat, so we roamed Kaufhof, a big department store. We were browsing the Esprit department and I remembered my trusty favourite jeans being Esprit ones, so I took a look at the sale racks. Score! I found these denim chinos, they were marked down from somewhere around 60 or 70 to 34,90 €.
And they are SO comfortable to wear!

Apart from the denim chinos I didn't buy anything because I'm already pretty broke for this month after the extensive Essen shopping spree two weekends ago. But we were able to find my mum a beautiful light khaki Esprit trenchcoat, so both of us were happy in the end.
Today I'm looking forward to a barbecue party with all our neighbours in the backyard later on! I need to bake something for dessert, so I'm off to the supermarket now.

Have a nice weekend!

everybody climbs over when you put up your fence

Hi guys!

How are you today?
I have been really busy studying for an oral exam for university which was planned to take place today - but it did not.
The funny thing is that when I arrived, the lecturer told me that according to my study course's examination regulations I wouldn't have to do this exam because I already passed all necessary exams  last semester.

Haha, I was so flabbergasted - I didn't know if I should be happy or not. Later on I decided to be happy about it - life's funny sometimes.

Okay, now let me introduce you to one of my new favourite dresses: this is my new Promod floral dress! I love the colours so much, I love how soft, light and breezy the cotton is! And I love the pink Peter Pan collar - unfortunately you can't see it in the photos because my hair always covers it. Bummer, it's such a pretty collar! I'll wear this a lot so I'll make sure to have the collar appear on the photos next time. ;)

Apart from the above everything is rather uneventful round here. I work a lot this semester break, but I also try to find some new hobbies to keep me challenged. I consider to do more crafty stuff in the future and I'm excited about how it will turn out.

Wish you all a lovely day my dears!
