Hi guys!
Just a quick post today. I came "home" to the hotel pretty late because I was out and about in downtown Budapest, enjoying the sunny weather by taking a walk along Andrássy út. Then I skyped with Patrick who is in brussels right now and who will leave for Paris tomorrow... wow it sounds as if we were such a jetset couple. Well, actually we're not, I swear! ;)
Anyway, Andrássy út is a boulevard that Mr. Gyula Andrássy had built for Empress Elizabeth of Austria (Sissi). It is said that he had a major crush on her and when he heard that she planned to visit Budapest (because she also was the Queen of Hungary) he decided that lovely Sissi should not use the main street were everyone walked around, so he had the pretty boulevard Andrássy út built for her alone :)

Tadaaa I made it to take outfit pics in public with the self-timer and the people didn't even give me strange looks :) They probably thought "Oh these tourists..."
I wore a casual comfy baggypants outfit because it's pretty warm here and if you sit on your butt in front of the computer from 9 to 5 such breezy pants can be very helpful against hot flashes.
And the cardi, well actually I brought enough cardis with me from home but I loved the colour of the one I'm wearing so much that I simply had to buy it yesterday.
The photos were taken on the backside of Szent István-bazilika (St. Stephan's basilica), one of the many beautiful buildings here. I took some more photos today when roaming the downtown area, here are some more Budapest impressions for you:
Dohány utcai zsinagóga (the great synagogue)
one of the synagogue's turrets
Szent István-bazilika (St. Stephan's basilica) - I think the woman in the red dress that's blowing in the wind makes the whole photo :)
inscription over the entrance of Szent István-bazilika ("I am the way to truth and life" if I remember correctly)
turret of the basilica
a shabby-cute balcony somewhere downtown
yummiest cider ever!!!
Happy Wednesday guys!
Greetings from Hungary's lovely capital! ;)
