there's a television looking at me

Hi guys!

I'm still trying to figure out how to use the new DSLR in different light situations and all, so there'll be photos taken with my normal cam for the time being.
I was too tired to sit down and learn about the DSLR after work the last days, so I slouched about on the sofa to watch some more movies. Remember the little movie-list I posted the other day? I worked off some of the movies by watching Zombieland (I love Woody Harrelson!), Moon (cool!) and Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 (rubbish!). Furthermore I suffered through Saw VI and V and decided to not watch the sequels because after Saw I everything's crap. Today I died laughing in some of the scenes in Drag me To Hell. Sam Raimi has a unique humour... ;)

I haven't shown you my lovely new coat yet, so here it is. Navyblue perfection with silver buttons in a kind of military style (you can't really see them because of the scarf). Snatched it in the H&M pre-Christmas sale for 30 € but haven't had the chance to wear it because it was too cold outside. Now that the temperatures have climbed up to somewhere between 2 and 7 degrees Celsius the coat is perfect, especially with a cozy scarf and hat. Speaking of the hat, this is my new favourite hat. I'm in love with the Scandinavian style pattern and the cute pompom on top :D
Oh and btw: I actually wore brown leather brogues with this outfit, just so you know I don't wear fake UGGs when I leave the house! I like how comfy they are but I'd never leave the house with them, except for going to the petrol station around the corner or so. I'd feel kinda embarassed, like I forgot to change from house slippers to normal shoes if I wore the fake UGGs to uni or work. It's just this little quirk of mine ;)

My updated movie-list for the next weeks looks like this:

Vicky Cristina Barcelona
(recommended by a friend of mine - danke Regina ^^)

Antichrist
Ponyo
The Messenger
Eat Pray Love

Metropolis

Have a fantastic day!

productivity (+ DIY calendar)

Hi guys!

How have you been? Had some nice first days of 2011?
I had never imagined that my year would start with feeling so productive! I did so many things, it's so nice that I only work half days this week. So much free time! I'm not used to this but it feels way better than working 9 to 6 and not having much time left when you come home.

I cleaned up the apartment, went sale shopping with friends (many cute new stuff to style for future posts), catched up with paperwork that piled up on my desk, registered for the exams next month, worked on a new banner for the blog... I even had time to read and listen to music and watch movies. These otherwise neglected activities, ah I almost forgot how nice they are. At the moment I still read "Teacher Man" by Frank McCourt (I'm a fan of Irish writers), then I listened to the new Volbeat album (and loved it!) and watched two horror movies, the Nightmare on Elm Street remake and Paranormal Activity. Okay they were both pretty lame (especially the Freddy movie without Robert Englund, which is a shame) but at least I had the time to watch them and form an own opinion about them.

Oh and I made a new calendar for 2011. That's a lovely little ritual for me: I make a calendar with photos of Patrick and me each year. Here's how it works:

1. Print out the photos you would like to use for the calendar (or go to a copyshop for better quality - depends on your printer).

2. Cut them out :)

3. Glue them in one of those plain DIY calendars (for example available in the post offices here in Germany).

4. Decorate the sheets at will. I'm not a good drawer, so I use cute stickers and scribble around a bit.

I'm planning to catch up with watching all the movies that are on my movie wishlist. If you have any suggestions about other good movies (especially horror - oh good horror movies are hard to find...) please tell me :)
On my list so far:

The Messenger
Eat Pray Love
Ponyo (cuuuute!!!)
Angela's Ashes
Moon
Halloween 2
Zombieland

Have a lovely day!
