in my drunken head

Hello loves!

I'm just dropping in to post this casual look I wore to work yesterday. It features some comfy stretchy jeggings, my trusty Minnetonkas, a nice simple blouse AND one of my favourite cardis. Last month I stocked up on light cardigans for spring/summer because I hate to go out with bare arms, I can't wear tops with less than t-shirt sleeves on their own, I will always need a cardi to feel properly dressed. Just one of the many quirks I have.
I really love the graphic print on this little black and white number, it's perfect with plain shirts and denim.

Last night was time for friends, beers and acoustic music at my favourite hangout Brause. In cooperation with the Düsseldorf-based musician Honig they host acoustic concerts from time to time. This time Honig presented Hello Piedpiper from Cologne and played some songs with him. It was wonderful - great musicians with great voices and great sound. If you like singer/songwriter music you might want to give them a listen.
Here is a beautiful Honig song and video for all those who are interested:

Hope you like it?
I can't wait for the next concert because his voice is even more awesome live.

I hope you all had a good start of the week.
Mine can only get better because Thursday is a holiday and I was able to take Friday and Monday off so I will have a superlong weekend, yay!

Happy Tuesday!

kitties, coffee shops and bbq parties

kitties, coffee shops and bbq parties oufit post title

Hellooo!

It's Friday, hooray! Eventhough Monday was a holiday, the week still seemed to be endless. I'm so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow because on weekdays I get up earlier than actually needed to skype with my boyfriend who is six hours ahaead of my time. Woohoo long distance realtionship... Can't wait for this to be over - not the relationship of course, only the long distance part! I'm counting down the weeks (actually months, but that sounds like way too far in the future, so weeks it is).
I've also been pretty tired in the last few days because I began to work out daily or at least once in two days. I found a really cool YouTube channel called BeFiT with lots of awesome workout videos that will hopefully tone my whole body and help to get rid of the bachelor thesis love handles.

Apart from sleeping in I don't have big plans for the weekend. I will work a trial shift at a coffee shop tomorrow afternoon which will be exciting. I applied for weekend jobs because I have to earn some extra money to make up for not getting alimony anymore since I handed in the bachelor thesis.
I have never worked at a coffee shop and somehow always thought it would actually be pretty cool to try it. I know it can be a pain in the ass too but at the moment I'm looking forward to it, so keep your fingers crossed for me please.

Yesterday night I went to one of my favourite places: Brause - a really small pub / venue for concerts, readings and lots of other cool events. In the warm season they host a barbecue night once a month and yesterday was the first one this year. When I arrived the weather was lovely, very mild and perfect to sit outside, have a drink and snack on grilled bacon or bratwurst. Unfortunately as soon as the meat was on the grill it started raining and later there was even thunder and lightning. That was the wet end of the barbecue party, what a bummer! ut oh well, at least the food was yummy.

Have a happy Friday and a lovely weekend everyone!

easter sunday

easter sunday outfit post by badtastetoast

Hello loves!

How was your Easter weekend?
I hope you all spent some quality time with dear friends or your family, stuffed your faces with good food and chocolate bunnies, were able to relax and did lots of other nice things.
I visited my mum and stepdad on Sunday and stayed over night. They invited my stepbro and me for dinner and took us to a lovely restaurant. It's the same place that they will celebrate their wedding at next month, so we were all curious about the venue and cuisine.

I wore this pretty navyblue button down dress and added my favourite belt in the world and some cute and simple flats because I'm not a high heels girl. The dress is an Ebay bargain that I bought second hand about a year ago for something around 8€. I don't even know why, but it was not before last month that I started to actually wear it. Before, I would only try it on at home, find it too short or too tight or just not right for my mood and put it back into the closet. Fortunately I've left these failed first advances behind and came to the conclusion that it's the perfect simple dress for everyday. It's still a bit tight around the chest, but oh well, that's what happens when you've got a nice rack, right?

The restaurant we went to is called Auerhahn and it was really nice there. I liked the rustic and romantic country style interior, which makes the place look like a restored farm barn. The waitress was a bit clumsy, but the food and wine were very good. I had bacon-wrapped dates as a starter and pork filet in sherry sauce with garden vegetables and wild garlic spaetzle as main course, mmmhhh yummy!
You can see some pictures of the interior and food at the bottom of the post.

As Monday was a holiday we all slept in and had an extensive late breakfast. After I moved out years ago I started to learn to love these rare occasions when we are all able to sit down at the same table and have breakfast together. There is always an abundance of rolls, bread, cold cuts etc. and music and lots of things to talk about.

Okay, enough ramblings about family and food. Last but not least here are some pics of Sunday night:

Have a nice day!

owls, florals and healthy cookies

owls, florals and healthy cookies outfit post title

Hellooo and happy Easter!

I hope you guys are having a lovely Easter weekend with your friends and family.
I already visited my dad and his girlfriend from Thursday til Friday to celebrate her birthday. The next day we took a long walk through the woods and rewarded ourselves with coffee and cake.
Today I'll visit my mum and her boyfriend (husband to-be, I'm so excited for their wedding next month!).
So you see I'm pretty busy with the family, that's why I have to squeeze in this springy Easter outfit post here today.

The outfit is what I wore yesterday to run some errands. I also made the easiest healthy cookies in the whole wide world, you can find the recipe at the bottom of this post.
I am so in love with my new Gina Tricot skirt! The shape and print are perfect, especially for spring/summer. Add my favourite owl shirt and a light cardi et voilà: a cute casual look.

Oh and there is the P2 "Baker Street" lipstick again! Some of you might already know it from my last post. I just can't get enough of it at the moment! Such a perfect bright pink for sunny days! Instant cuteness!

And, as promised, here is the recipe for these yummy healthy cookies:

Mix 2 ripe bananas with 1 cup of quick oats. Add grated chocolate, coconut or nuts if you like.
Make flat small heaps on a baking tray with baking paper and bake them in the oven (150°C for 15 minutes).
That's it, supereasy! I found the recipe here.

Happy Sunday lovelies, until next post!
