old photos and broken glass

Hi guys!

How are you?
I wanted to blog yesterday but had a totally lazy evening with fish sticks, salad and Two And A Half Men instead then.
And this lovely floral dress was in the mail! I had bought it via Ebay before starting my shopping-ban time, so it doesn't count as breaking the rule. I fell in love with the pattern at first sight and when it arrived it even still had tags and was brand new although the seller sold it as 2nd hand. It cost me ridiculous 8€, bargain yaayy!

Oh and look, I tried out a tutorial to make my photos look older:

The upper photo is edited a little bit, the photo below is the original and the photo on top of this post is completely edited. How do you like them?

This might be nothing new to most of you, but I didn't know how to create this vintage photo effect, so I tried it out with this tutorial. I know how to do this and that with Photoshop, some basic techniques and tricks, but PS is so extensive that I'd still consider myself as a raw recruit so it's very cool to learn new things.

Patrick's parents visited us this morning to help us rearrange the living room furniture and after they had left, Patrick was so ambitious to make our apartment look good that we went to Ikea. God I hate Ikea on a Saturday because it's full of families.... nerve-wracking! But as my shopping-ban only counts for clothing and accessories I seized the chance to spend some money on a new pillow, storage tins and picture frames.
After the shopping we grabbed some hotdogs and ice cream and when we had found a bistro table and sat down to rest our feet I knocked over the shopping bag and smashed our big new 17€ poster frame, gaaaaaah... clumsy me :-(
And of course I couldn't exchange it because I don't own a Ikea Family Card.
I hope it's not like with smashed mirrors that cause you 7 years of bad luck...

Later on we'll have some pizza and watch Due Date, oh I love movie nights on the sofa. Laziness..... :)
Btw I watched the new version of Karate Kid the other day, what a crap! Why is this movie even called Karate Kid when Jackie Chan teaches the boy Kung Fu?? I'm not a martial arts specialist but even I know that these are two different things! How ridiculous is that? Dear Hollywood, you're stupid.

Happy Saturday!

About your floral print dress, what can I say? I think it's gorgeous and I like how pretty you are with your hair down like that.

  12. Such a lovely dress dear, and I like the effects you were able to get. It looked like you had coloured your hair black! I also watched due date this weekend, it was funny (,am I love Robert downey jr) but not what I expected.
