Hi guys!
I am in Budapest right now with my friend Mona from Canada.
I'm a bit homesick, but as usual I'm having a good time here enjoying the beautiful buildings, the good food and the atmosphere. It's my fourth (or even fifth?) time here and with each stay I love this city more. I'm glad to see new cool bars, pubs, shops and streetart everywhere - you can see the difference to when I was here last time in April 2012. There are lots of exchange students and international visitors mingling with the locals, cross cuisine mixed with traditional Hungarian food, international brands like Starbucks competing with local ones like California Coffee Company, independent Hungarian design shops spreading within the kitschy souvenir shop landscape.
I don't want to blog too much while I'm on holidays, so I'm just giving you a mix of different photos I took in the last couple of days to give you an impression of what it's like here and of what I wore.
On Thursday I'll move on to Prague - so excited already!
But first Budapest:
This is the Danube with the Elizabeth Bridge in the distance - as you can see we have perfect weather here!
Le moi in front of streetart - there are letters written on the little cubes. Plus my shirts match the colours of this thingy!
The Liberty Bridge by night - one of my favourite spots to take photos here, always so beautiful!
Yes I'm posing on some ancient Roman ruins - these photos were taken at Aquincum, the remains of an ancient Roman town outside of Budapest's city centre.
I also visited a friend of mine and her darling 6-months-old son at her shop, the Jojó Art Shop. They sell all kinds of accessories and bags made by Hungarian designers and their very own cute handmade mugs with unique illustrations on them.
Sporting my new winter jacket in front of the Szent István Bazilika - this is another one of my favourite spots in Budapest.
View on the Parliament from Fisherman's Bastion - located in the hills of Buda it gives you a beautiful view up and down the Danube.
Lounging about in a bath tub sofa - is this cool or is this cool?! Well, you can do that at the Szimpla bar, an awesome ruin pub with penis hearts on the wall.
If you have the chance to visit Budapest you really should!
You can also get more impressions in my other Budapest posts if you like.
Hope you enjoyed the photos!
Until next time (probably from Prague then),
